LeMieux Galleries is pleased to present shows for two new artists starting in March: Charlie Buckley The Industry of Water and Andrew Blanchard Barateur. Both shows will open on Saturday, March 7, 2026 with a closing reception on Saturday, April
4, 2026. LeMieux Galleries is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00AM to 5:00PM and by appointment.
Andrew Blanchard was the winner of And Now for Something New, Vol 5 in 2023 at LeMieux Galleries. Barateur is his first solo show at the gallery. His work goes straddles between person reflections and visual reporting, using double entendre as a means of communicating subjects of religion, politics and race.
His work is a hybrid of printmaking/photographic processes and painting. Blanchard spent his childhood along the Gulf Coast so much of his artwork incorporates water and images reflecting Mother Nature’s prowess.
Andrew Blanchard grew up wild in the swamps of Louisiana and Mississippi. The Ole Miss Art Department found him naked, removed a thorn from his paw and awarded him an MFA. To date he has avoided jail and is currently a Full Professor of Studio Art at Converse University in Spartanburg, SC and a life-long resident of the MS Gulf Coast. His work resides in the permanent collections of the Ogden Museum of Southern Art in New Orleans and the Mississippi Museum of Art in Jackson, and it is featured or forthcoming in publications including Ecotone, Electric Dirt, Printmakers Today, New American Paintings, the International Painting Annual (nos. 4 and 7), the Oxford American, the Southwest Review and ROOTED.
