Press Release

CURRENTS, established in 2009, is an annual exhibition which was initiated to highlight the contemporary photographic work created by New Orleans Photo Alliance members during PhotoNOLA, an annual festival of photography in New Orleans. The show features several images by each selected photographer. The juror for CURRENTS 2018 is Anjuli Lebowitz, an exhibition research associate in the department of photographs at the National Gallery of Art, Washington.

About the Juror:
Anjuli Lebowitz is an exhibition research associate in the department of photographs at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, where she works on exhibitions and publications. Previously, she was a Jane and Morgan Whitney Fellow in the department of photographs at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, where she curated Faith and Photography: Auguste Salzmann in the Holy Land. Anjuli earned a Ph.D. in the History of Photography from Boston University, an M.A. from CUNY Hunter College, and a B.A. with honors from Williams College.

OPENING RECEPTION AND PHOTOWALK

Opening @ 5 – 7 p.m. + PhotoWALK @ 7 – 9 p.m.

Participants in the PhotoNOLA Portfolio Review will display their work for an evening portfolio walk in the Ogden Museum’s Patrick F. Taylor Library. The PhotoWALK is free and open to the public.
