fnnch: Everywhere Else Is Cleveland
This exhibition marks fnnch’s long-awaited New Orleans debut. Known internationally for his vibrant honey bears and large-scale public works, fnnch’s practice bridges street art, studio production, and civic engagement. Everywhere Else Is Cleveland is an ode to the artist’s familial roots in Louisiana, his studio practice in San Francisco, and his gallery presence in New York, and the spirit shared by the three great cities. The exhibit will debut at least three original, never-before-seen, New Orleans themed honey bears, and a retrospective of some of the most iconic work by the artist.
The exhibition takes its title and conceptual framework from a line attributed to Tennessee Williams: “There are only three cities in America: New York, San Francisco, and New Orleans. Everywhere else is Cleveland.”
In this spirit, fnnch’s work celebrates the cultural gravity of cities that shape artists, not merely as locations, but as artistic hubs that inform identity, creativity, and the cultural zeitgeist.
In conjunction with the exhibition, fnnch will be actively working on public art installations throughout the greater New Orleans area in the days surrounding the opening, extending the exhibition beyond the gallery walls and into the city itself.
