The Arthur Roger Gallery is pleased to announce a new exhibition featuring the work of artist Frankie Rice, in a special showing with John Waters. The exhibition will be
on view at Arthur Roger Gallery, located at 432 Julia St, from October 4–November 15, 2025. Rice will be present at the opening reception hosted by the gallery on Saturday, October 4, from 6–9 PM, in conjunction with Art for Arts’ Sake.

Frankie Rice, a self-taught artist whose practice spans stonework and sculpture, will showcase his compelling new series crafted from prescription pill bottles. This body of work is a powerful and intimate exploration of personal resilience, transforming objects of medical necessity into poignant and beautiful art. Rice's use of the archway motif, a recurring theme in his work, brings a sense of structural integrity and symbolic strength to this deeply personal material. The sculptures, made from recycled medication bottles, serve as a testament to his journey and a celebration of life, finding beauty in the discarded and overlooked.

Known for his dynamic use of materials, Rice has created a unique artistic language that honors both the natural world and found objects. His work, which often revisits the archway as a symbol of historical strength, provides a profound narrative that resonates with themes of endurance and transformation.

The exhibition provides a unique opportunity to see Rice's work alongside that of the legendary John Waters, highlighting a shared sensibility for challenging conventions and celebrating unique artistic visions. The show will run through November 15. Born in Truro, Massachusetts, Frankie Rice maintains studios in both Brooklyn, NY, and on the Outer Cape. His work has been featured in numerous notable exhibitions, including "The name of this show is not: GAY ART NOW," curated by Jack Pierson at Paul Kasmin Gallery, New York (2006), and "Eliminate," curated by John Waters at Albert Merola Gallery, Provincetown (2007). His work has also been shown at Launch F18, New York ("Wrestle," 2011; "The Arches," 2019), Sharon Arts Center, Peterborough, NH ("(con)Text," 2013), and the Leslie-Lohman Museum in New York ("The Violators," 2018).
