Press Release

Join us for an extra special opening this Saturday, May 2, from 5-9pm to celebrate 1 year of Orleans Gallery!

The Orleans Gallery presents three spectacular shows by artists Andrew LaMar Hopkins, curated by Alison M. Gingeras; Jen Morgan; and Michie Cooper.

Jen Morgan is a fiber artist known for her luminous, intricate portraits made entirely of felted wool, yarn, and other materials. In "The Fiber of our Community," Morgan uses her show stopping Nano wool technique to pay homage to several of our city's culturebearers, including Dr. John, Kermit Ruffins, and Big Chief J’wan Boudreaux.

Join us for live music by Kermit Ruffins and Irvin Mayfield at 5:30, Grammy Nominee J'wan Boudreaux and his Mardi Gras Indian band Thee Storm, and other surprise musical guests; light refreshments; and to meet the artists behind these incredible shows.
