Press Release

LeMieux Galleries is pleased to present three exhibitions starting in January: Kris Wenschuh, Whispers for an Upside-Down World, Amy Guidry In Our Veins, and Kelly Moran Apparel for Cosmic Travelers. All three shows will be open on Saturday, January  3, 2026, and remain on view through February 21st. LeMieux Galleries is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and by appointment.
Kris Wenschuh, Whispers for an Upside-Down World, is the artist’s fourth solo exhibition at LeMieux Galleries. Wenschuh is a classically trained oil painter who only took up oil painting in her mid-thirties when she found a second “home” at the New Orleans Academy of Art, where she studied from 2006 to 2010.

Her work is rooted in the traditions of classical realism and has grown into magical realism with surreal elements. In this latest body of work, Wenschuh finds solace from our “Upside-Down” world by immersing herself within nature. Presenting this group of works as a “Gift” created with hope for the well-being of us all who share this world.

Wenschuh was born and grew up in East Germany, lived in London through most of the 90s, and moved to the United States in 1998. She has a background in linguistics, decorative design, education, and art, and studied in Germany, Russia, London, San Diego, and New Orleans. She has made New Orleans her home since 2000.
