"Passing Through the Blue," "Sun and Silhouette," and "The Antidote Series" | Carolyn Zacharias, Emily Wilson, and Kate Samworth

LeMieux Galleries is pleased to present exhibitions of recent works by artists Kate Samworth, Carolyn McAdams and Emily Wilson. The shows will open with a reception for the artists on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. The shows will remain on view until April 21, 2018. LeMieux Galleries is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

The Antidote Series, a collection of recent paintings and drawings by Kate Samworth, puts animals in human activity and sharing human emotions. They represent us at our best, finding pleasure in small things and connecting in joy and grief.

Carolyn McAdam’s PASSING THROUGH THE BLUE, She uses nonsense and absurdity to create allegories relating to human experience and emotions. Like Samworth she often substitutes creatures into a human narrative.  

Emily Wilson’s Sun and Silhouette is a new collection of painted wood and steel rod armature wall pieces of garden and nature vignettes. The works are populated with birds, animals and insects presented in an array of palettes ranging full saturated colors to darker twilight and night time black with color accents.
