Recent is a group of paintings exploring imagined domestic scenes. The environments are set in Tom Walton’s space at Camp Street Studios. Tom collaborated with models to intuitively improvise moments of connection and caregiving. The figures and settings express a feeling of isolation and longing. His work often captures moments in-between action, a time when there is a stillness. Hope and desire accompany feelings of loneliness and sadness. The oil paintings capture a sense of being alone while in company, accepting the generosity of space, anticipating what will come.
